North of Jasper, British Columbia
This image was captured on our last, 58-day Sea Explorer camping trip from Miami, Florida to Prudhoe Bay, Alaska. We were actually in the Canadian Rocky Mountains on our way home. It was late in the afternoon when we spotted this young bear by the side of the road. We stopped to take its picture. It came right up to the van. This bear then stayed around for ten minutes before wandering into the woods. It was our third black bear encounter of the day.
