Promoting Nancy’s photography and educating the public about nature, photography, and God

EPHAS 2: Osprey Family

The second article of our “Every Picture Has a Story” seriesFirst happens to be Nancy’s favorite image, Osprey Family.

Our web page for this image discusses how Nancy risked her life to get this picture. Then it talks about the challenges of putting this composite together. There are links to even more stories, like the controversy among seasoned fishermen about what kind of fish was being brought in, a cautionary piece about a stupid question men might want to avoid, the closest this image came to winning an award (we were so sure that this one was going to blow the judges away), and even the fate of the nest a few years later.

Again, every one of Nancy’s 120 images has its own web page. Besides the description and topics just mentioned, this page, like all of the others, has a small picture in the upper left corner and technical information like camera settings, maximum print size, and current inventory.

In addition to the gallery/portfolio section, the website also has the “Tips & Techniques” section, where we explain what we’ve learned about:

We don’t always follow conventional wisdom. We might even have to reinvent the wheel from time to time, but we don’t cover issues that are already well documented elsewhere.

Enjoy!
