Red Mangrove Maze

Turner River, Big Cypress National Preserve, Ochopee, Florida

Red Mangrove Maze

Nancy is canoeing on a particularly tight stretch of the Turner River. We launched the canoe on the south side of Tamiami Trail (US-41) as it crossed the Turner River just east of Ochopee. This is on our way to Collier-Seminole State Parkwebsite, where we would be tent camping and exploring on both bike and foot trails for the weekend.

Photographic details: Canon EOS 20D camera w/ EF 16-35 f/2.8 L USM autofocus lens set at 16mm. Flash was not used. At ISO 1600, camera was set for 1/125 second on shutter priority, resulting in an aperture of f/14. Exposure was decreased ½ stop in post-processing.

The Photographer

Bruce on Turner River

Bruce, although an important part of the Bee Happy Graphics team in his technical support role, doesn't actually consider himself a photographer.

This picture of Bruce was taken by the subject of "Red Mangrove Maze" just a little while before the subject picture was taken.

This image is being used in our blog to illustrate a technique for straightening an image. See Is This Picture Straight/Level?.

Photographic details: Ssame camera and lens set at 25mm. Flash was not used. At ISO 1600, camera was set for 1/125 second on shutter priority, resulting in an aperture of f/22. Exposure was decreased one stop in post-processing.
