Black Bear and Cubs
Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming
It was our first morning in Yellowstone National Park on our last summer Sea Explorer expedition. We got stopped for a bear jam; it was a female Black Bear with two cubs. The cubs were high in a pine tree and mother was sleeping on the ground below. Mama bear woke up and gave a grunt. The baby bears came scrambling down the tree. The cubs knew it was nursing time. Mama sat down and rolled onto her back. The cubs immediately grabbed a nipple and nursed for about five minutes.
